Early Spring

Pretty chocolate rose
Bad to eat, but decorates
better than a bow

Scallions growing
look like a science project
with their roots showing

Plum already bloomed
before I had a chance to
get my roses groomed

Cherry blossom dupes
fresh forever together
in a tangled group

I wish I had stayed
longer to eat my tacos
outside in the shade
